Ubertas Consulting Leads the Charge in Cloud Sustainability by partnering with Treeapp
Ubertas Consulting, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner now part of Devoteam, is spearheading responsible cloud usage and sustainability as a priority for its business. The company has recently demonstrated its commitment through several key initiatives, the first of which is their partnership with Treeapp.
In 2023, Ubertas partnered with Treeapp, a global tree-planting organisation. Treeapp has planted over 4.2 million trees across 17 countries, supporting both businesses and individuals in environmental efforts.
After just nine months of partnership with Treeapp, Ubertas Consulting has planted over 1,000 trees, marking a significant and rapid step towards carbon neutrality. Ubertas now plants 20 trees for every Well-Architected Framework Review (WAFR), offsetting the process's carbon footprint.
Tree planting has significant environmental benefits. One million trees absorb around 26,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, offsetting the emissions of more than 5,600 cars. To further demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and celebrate hitting the 1,000 trees milestone, Ubertas Consulting is excited to announce an upcoming tree-planting day scheduled for 27 November 2024. This event goes beyond planting trees; it represents a tangible step towards environmental stewardship and community engagement.
"Our tree-planting day is designed to be a collaborative effort," explains Cathryn Cust, Well-Architected Lead at Ubertas. "We're inviting our clients, partners, and employees to join us in this hands-on initiative. It's an opportunity to make a direct impact on our local environment while fostering discussions about sustainable cloud practices."
Richard Muggeridge, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Treeapp said: “We are excited to join Ubertas in celebrating the remarkable milestone of over 1,000 trees planted. By participating so actively in our tree planting initiatives, Ubertas is making a significant impact in the fight against climate change, as each tree contributes to carbon sequestration, biodiversity, and improved air quality.
"Corporate collaborations like this play a vital role in global reforestation efforts, demonstrating how businesses can unite to create lasting change. As we look ahead, the ongoing collaboration between Treeapp and Ubertas Consulting promises to yield profound long-term environmental benefits, fostering healthier ecosystems for future generations. Together, we are not just planting trees but cultivating a greener future," added Muggeridge.
Cust was equally enthusiastic about the collaboration: "This partnership represents our commitment to environmental responsibility. It extends our efficiency principles to sustainability, making a positive impact beyond cloud architectures."
"This milestone, achieved in such a short time, sets the stage for more ambitious environmental goals next year."
As a call to action, Ubertas Consulting is urging AWS users to assess their cloud usage's environmental impact, implement Well-Architected Framework best practices, including sustainability, optimise cloud resources and reduce carbon footprint and finally, consider offsetting unavoidable emissions through initiatives like tree planting.
